About the Community Power Festival
The Community Power Festival will be a celebration of clean energy, community, and sustainability presented in a family friendly, education-forward, festival setting in Santa Cruz’s San Lorenzo Park on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
As a public, not-for-profit agency formed by 16 cities and all three counties in Tri-County, Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) has a duty to engage and educate our community members. MBCP’s objective for the Community Power Festival is to build a tradition of collaborating with community partners to engage, educate and continue building MBCP into a valuable community resource. The Community Power Festival will also complement MBCP’s primary commitments to Local Choice, Clean Energy and Economic Vitality.
Featuring interactive booths, local vendors, community organizations, food and live music, the Community Power Festival will provide residents and businesses with an opportunity to share and learn more about clean energy, community, and sustainability.
During its inaugural year the Community Power Festival will take place in Santa Cruz county but the goal for 2019 is to host three different Community Power Festival events that benefit the local communities in Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties.
