The Puffball Collective (TPC) is built to lift you up.
Featuring members of the
“Banana Slug String Band”, “Slugs and Roses”, the “Barrelmakers”, instrumental funk project “Velour,” Jim Lewin’s Edge of the West , and a slew of talented local musicians, The PDC reaches into the back pocket of the great bands of the past such as Steely Dan, the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead, while at the same time creating their own sound and playing their own material. Featuring twin guitars, organ, a rock-solid rhythm section and sweet vocal harmonies, “The Puffball Collective" crafts extended musical journeys that are sure to lift every one to new heights of collective dancing puffball consciousness.

Based out of Santa Cruz, California, The Puffball Collective consistently performs extended musical journeys crafted to lift you up. We're fun, funky, and love to make you dance.

Band Bios:
Doug Dirt is a bassist, singer , dancer and provocateur of joyful noise. Performs in the Banana Slug String Band (32 years), Slugs and Roses(10 years) , & The Intangibillies (5 years)! He has gathered this de-light-full musical collective to help all to reach their highest puffball dancing potential.

David Cameron is a guitarist, composer and educator who recently returned to his native Bay Area after living, working and playing in SE Asia for over a decade. While overseas, David formed the bands Lemongrass and Dhoopstick and toured throughout the region. David is a passionate music educator with hot guitar chops who plays it all from funk to rock to jazz. Best of all, he’s outrageously happy to be par to the Puffball Dance Collective!

Lachlann Kane: Keyboards, vocals.
Lachlann’s piano style (think Leon Russel and Jerry Lee Lewis) and organ style ( thing Garth Hudson) make him a great addition to any rock band.
And the high vocal harmonies are a PLUS! The Santa Cruz native plays with Jim Lewin’s Edge of the West, as well as Scott Cooper’s Barrelmakers and the DB Walker Blues Band.

Marc Sveen is a seasoned guitarist and audio engineer, he’s been gigging in the music business for over 20 years. He brings color and drive to all his musical endeavors.

Paul Garcia on drums has played in numerous Grateful Dead related projects hailing from Santa Cruz including Slugs and Roses, and Spirit of '76. Paul also enjoys playing Americana and country flavored music, having played previously with Amee Chapman and the Velvet Tumbleweeds and his current project, West by Southwest.

Warren Charles Jones: percussion, vocals , poet,….A fabulous, funky, sweet member of The Puffball Collective, performs and tours with The California HoneyDrops, & the Cammeron Jones Duo.
