Thousands of tourists flock to Santa Cruz every day to visit the coast and take in the sights. But unless they know exactly where to look, they are likely to miss some of the lesser known attractions, like the Surfing Museum or the mansion that inspired Hitchcock’s film Psycho. Until now, of course.
Geogad has introduced a new audio-visual tour of the Santa Cruz coast to go along with such popular tours as Jack the Ripper’s London and Angkor Wat. The tour can be viewed online at home, or downloaded to the tourists’ phones and played on their iPods.

The tour offers visitors a pretty comprehensive picture of Santa Cruz, covering everything from the San Francisco millionaires who were behind the Boardwalk a century ago to the strange behavior of birds that inspired Alfred Hitchcock to the recent attempt to turn Lighthouse Field Beach into a convention center and shopping mall. In fact, even locals might enjoy the free tour, courtesy of Geogad.
