Two men are dead after a family spat ended with a shooting on Hutchinson Road, off Highway 35 near the summit. The incident began yesterday when a woman notified the Santa Cruz County Sheriffs Department that her husband had been shot by a man she believes to have been his step-father. When they arrived at the scene, eyewitnesses informed police that they had seen a man clutching a shot gun run into the woods behind the house. They soon found the man dead in the woods, the shotgun lying at his side.
Police are still investigating the crime. No motive has been released as yet. It has yet to be determined whether the stepfather committed suicide, and the two deaths are still being treated as homicides. Read more at Fox 35.
