Arroyo Seco Hot Spot Kickoff Event

Join the Ventana Wilderness Alliance at the Santa Cruz Patagonia store on Thursday August 15th from 7-9pm to celebrate the beginning of our Arroyo Seco Leave No Trace Hot Spot week!

Adventure runner Leor Pantilat will share his experiences hiking and swimming the Arroyo Seco from its headwaters in the Ventana Wilderness to the Day Use Area far downstream. There will be a food truck, beers by Alvarado Street Brewery & Grill, and a raffle. This is a great opportunity to meet the Traveling Trainers, Ventana Wilderness Alliance staff and volunteers, and Patagonia Santa Cruz staff and volunteers.

The Ventana Wilderness Alliance (VWA) has teamed up with Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics (LNT) to recognize Arroyo Seco as a 2019 Leave No Trace Hot Spot. With the help of LNT Traveling Trainers, the US Forest Service, Parks Management Company, and other stakeholders, VWA will educate and inspire local communities with media, workshops, and clean-up events from August 15 through August 26, 2019.
