Big River

Big River shows their love for a variety of dance music, including Cajun, New Orleans blues and boogie, R&B, blues, zydeco, and pop. The lineup of musicians includes Maureen Karpan, who has played accordion and sung in Bay Area Cajun/Creole dance bands since 1996, including the Creole Belles, Frog Legs, and Courtableu; Richard Chon, a versatile fiddler and vocalist who is a veteran of the Bakersfield honky tonk scene and currently also heads the Saddlecats and the Moonglow Trio; Sam Siggins, a veteran Bay Area drummer and vocalist who was a member of the late Danny Poullard's California Cajun Orchestra; bassist Patty Hammond who also heads the R&B band Kickin' The Mule; and young guitarist Lu Salcedo a soon-to-be graduate of the California Jazz Conservatory.
