Bokashi Compost Class

TimeBank Santa Cruz is holding a Bokashi Compost class Saturday, March 12 in Capitola.  Cost: $10. You’ll learn each step of this anaerobic fermentation process to quickly convert your kitchen waste into a regenerative fertilizer. This quick, easy and highly efficient method keeps ALL kitchen scraps (including meat, fish and bones) out of the landfill and accords nicely with SB 1383’s aims. It reduces your waste stream.

Bokashi Composting is rat-proof and takes little time/space to manage. A stand-alone process, it’s also an excellent complement to traditional composting as it speeds up decomposing piles. We'll have the supplies you need to get started: Bucket Systems for $22 and the Inoculant Mix for $8. These prices are lower than market rate. We'll also show you how to make everything yourself.
