Clue is a hilarious comedy-meets-murder mystery, based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game. The story begins at an out-of-the-way mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail ensue. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by the Wadsworth – the butler, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy detective story that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT! This special Stay-at-Home edition of Clue will be performed online, so audiences can purchase a ticket and watch at home on a computer, tablet or smart TV.
Esperanza Clark’s first experience with theatre was as a freshman when she performed in the San Lorenzo Valley High School student-directed play, “Museum,” directed by Sampson Miller and Rowan Nicolett-Ray. Since that time, she’s been a part of the SLVHS Drama Community as an integral member (memories of clothespins, misshapen wigs, the licking of statues and other inside jokes!) and has performed in every SLVHS show since. She expanded her backstage experience as a Costume Designer for the SLV Middle School production of “Seussical the Musical Jr.” in 2019. Esperanza assists with the theatre classes at both SLVHS and SLVMS to nurture younger students, and is the Co-President of the high school’s International Thespian Society. Esperanza has wanted to direct a show since watching other students take on this challenge over the years. Given the current circumstances with COVID restrictions, she has had to expand her creativity even further to take a show online, and is so impressed with how hard the actors and actresses have been working. She can’t wait for opening night and hopes you enjoy the show as much as she has enjoyed directing!
Lennon Lilienthal-Wynn is a Senior at SLVHS, and has acted in four SLVHS shows including "A Haunting We Will Go" and "Like, Like, Like?" He has always wanted to student-direct and is very excited to be co-directing Clue. He thinks that even if it can't be put on stage, the show must go on. He has enjoyed the process of doing something new for everyone, finding and solving many problems along the way. He thinks this online adaption of this murder mystery comedy will still leave you on the edge of your seat or falling out of it from laughter. He hopes you enjoy the show and is glad you can still see it while keeping yourself and everyone safe!
