About Derby Girl Cleanup @ San Lorenzo Riverwalk

3RD ANNUAL DERBY GIRLS CLEANUP

The Rainy Season is here, which means trash is on the move. Let’s stop trash before it flows to the ocean. Join us for our annual community levee cleanup with the Santa Cruz Derby Girls at the San Lorenzo River in Downtown Santa Cruz.

The 29.3 mile-long San Lorenzo River has an enormous importance on the health and wellness of our local wildlife and community. Come steward some of the most vital habitat in the City of Santa Cruz and having lots of fun while doing it!

CHECK-IN: Meet us at the end of Josephine St. along the Riverwalk.

SUPPLIES: All cleanups supplies will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. We still encourage you to bring your own reusable gloves, buckets, and trash grabber!

OTHER STUFF: We recommend that all volunteers dress in layers with closed-toe shoes, wear sun protection, and bring a reusable water bottle. Volunteers under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

All of Save Our Shores’ cleanups happen rain or shine. Remember, everything flows to the ocean, so it’s especially important to clean our Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary beaches during rain storms.

Let’s put some sparkle in the San Lorenzo River!

See you on the levee,
– Save Our Shores & The Santa Cruz Derby Girls
