About Discovering Buddhism: Refuge in the Three Jewels

Discovering Buddhism 7: Refuge in the Three Jewels
with Venerable Drimay
Tuesdays July 30-August 27
7:00pm - 8:45pm

Topics covered in this course include:
• The Meaning of Refuge
• Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha Jewels
• Refuge Ngondro (preliminary practice)
• Refuge Vows

Taking refuge means depending on something to keep us safe and happy. There are so many ordinary things that we take refuge in - money, social connections, health routines, property insurance - but they are not reliable; they don't always work. The Buddha gave us an alternative - taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. This is what makes a person a Buddhist. Find out what it means to take refuge in the Three Jewels and the essential practices of refuge.

This is module #7 of the Discovering Buddhism program. It's fine to jump in at the beginning of any of these courses.
