About Dr. Peter Lin, neurologist: "New Developments in Parkinson's Disease

Dr. Lin is a Movement Disorder Specialist and a Board Certified Neurologist who received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2001. He then completed his internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, where he acted as chief resident. He received several awards as a resident for teaching including the Helen Rantz Housestaff award from Stanford Hospital for excellence in teaching. He then spent three years in movement disorders fellowship and research in the Human Motor Control Section at the National Institutes of Health where he focused on diagnostic testing for movement disorders and Botox injection for movement disorders including dystonia, tremor and spasticity.

Dr. Lin began practice as a general neurologist at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center as well as Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford Hospital. There he focused on movement disorders evaluation as well as Botox therapy for neurologic indications including dystonia, tremor, spasticity and migraine headache. He was actively involved in resident and medical student teaching and won the Lysia Forno teaching award from the Stanford neurology department for excellence in teaching.

Dr. Lin has published up to 30 peer reviewed articles in the field of movement disorders and clinical neurophysiology focused on diagnostic testing and novel technology for neurorehabilitation. He continues to be involved in research as a clinical advisor in the fields of big data analysis, wearable technology and biomarker development.

He joined the Valley Parkinson Clinic in August of 2015.
His outside interests include spending time with his family, digital photography, deep-sea fishing, and travel.
