Graywater Laundry to Landscape Class

About Graywater Laundry to Landscape Class

TimeBank Santa Cruz is hosting a Graywater Laundry to Landscape class March 26 at 10 am in Capitola. Cost: $10.

Such a Graywater system linking your washer to your garden is one of the best ways a household can save water.

This relatively simple DIY project does not involve plumbing. Attendees will learn how to install a graywater system in compliance with regulatory design requirements. Rebates for parts and materials are available from some local water districts. No permit is required, though your water district may like to inspect the installation prior to any rebate.

You’ll learn to install a three-way valve between your washer/sewer/landscape to route the water, to lay the irrigation pipe of the branched-drain system and to situate the emitters in mulch basins.

Please note: GW systems are not compatible with water softeners. You must plan to irrigate within ~50’ of your washer. You’ll need to commit to using Graywater-safe detergents.

Register here by Thursday, March 24: https://timebanksantacruz.org/events

Once you’ve paid the $10 fee, we’ll send you the class address.
