Kindred Herbs Fall Plant Sale

Kindred Herbs is hosting its second medicinal plant sale in Santa Cruz! More than 60 herbs from around the world will be for sale, including Ayurvedic, Chinese, European, and North American herbs. All plants are organic and have been selected for their potency and success in our cool temperate climate in Santa Cruz.

Fall is an ideal time to plant many perennial herbs in Santa Cruz and the surrounding region. This plant sale will feature some new medicinal herbs that weren’t available at the July plant sale, including Helichrysum, Blue Flag Iris, Calamus, and Dogbane, to name a few.

Staff will be available throughout the plant sale to answer questions and help folks select plants that are right for them, their health goals, and their specific landscapes and gardens.

ABOUT KINDRED HERBS
Kindred Herbs is a local, small, womyn-owned nursery that was started in 2018 by Cameron Salomon. As herbalism continues to gain popularity, many wild plants are being over-harvested at an alarming rate. Kindred Herb's medicinal plant nursery allows farmers and gardeners to grow and harvest their own medicinal herbs locally.

Making teas, tinctures, and infused oils from freshly harvested herbs also gives you a fuller flavor, increased potency, and a noticeable vitality to your creations. Kindred Herbs offers perennial plants that have a beneficial role in the ecosystem beyond human consumption. Herbs also provide food and habitat for birds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Cameron has spent 16 years farming and gardening around the world, learning sustainable and regenerative practices. She has studied herbalism for three years intensively, completing two years of study at the California School of Herbal Studies and one year of study at Mount Madonna College of Ayurveda. She is a certified Permaculture Designer and Santa Cruz County Master Composter. She has also studied horticulture at Cabrillo College and taken many gardening and farming classes.
