About México de Antaño / Mexico of the Past

Senderos is proud to present its winter dance performance on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3 at 7:00 pm at Harbor High Theater, 300 La Fonda Avenue, Santa Cruz. Centeotl Danza y Baile dance troupe will be featured in México de Antaño / Mexico of the Past showcasing traditional dances from many states in Mexico. Also performing will be Ensamble Musical, the youth band of Senderos. Tickets will be on sale at the door; $10 general, $5 students/seniors. Delicious Mexican food will be sold before the show from 5:30 pm.

Senderos dancers and musicians ages 6 to 26 perform in over 20 community and school events annually, including our Vive Oaxaca held the third Sunday in May at Harbor High School’s football field.

The December show is a fundraising event for Senderos, an all-volunteer nonprofit in Santa Cruz providing free after school dance and music classes, tutoring and scholarships for Latino youth. Senderos youth perform in over 20 community and school events annually, including the recent Día de los Muertos festival, and Senderos’s Vive Oaxaca Guelaguetza cultural festival every May.

Senderos is supported by Santa Cruz City Schools, California Arts Council, Arts Council Santa Cruz County, Community Foundation Santa Cruz County, the David and Abigail Fund, the Mexican Consulate of San Jose, and many local businesses and individuals.
