Natural Dyeing with Onion Skins

Enter into the magical world of natural and botanical dyeing in this Dyeing with Onion Skin Workshop. Learn the basics of extracting pigment from yellow onion skins, and brew a vat of sunshine yellow dye as a group. Each student will design and create a 12 x 24 inches wall hanging, manipulating the pattern and intensity of color through methods of fabric preparation, folding, and dye treatment. Hangings will be mounted on driftwood, making the perfect addition to your home decor, or a thoughtful gift. A guide to natural dyeing at home will be included in the class for further experimenting at home!
