About QPR Training to Prevent Suicide

A free training in QPR. To sign up, email [email protected].

QPR stands for Question Persuade and Refer, three steps any adult can learn. People trained in QPR learn to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to get help.

One million people have been trained in this successful intervention, which like CPR, can save a life. The training, which began in 1996, has been evaluated for effectiveness and is listed on the National Registry of evidence-based programs compiled by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, a part of US Dept of Health and Human Services.

Cruz Lopez, a licensed MFT, and Sonoma-County behavioral health and community intervention manager, will be the presenter.

Sponsored by Santa Cruz County Mental Health and the Clarence and Catherine Bailey Trust.
