About THE CLASS-SICK CONTINUUM EPISODE #1
Genoa Brown
Genoa Brown is a native of Santa Cruz, CA and has contributed her vocal talent to projects as varied as The Serendipity Project- a now disbanded Hip Hop group- and Aza, a local band with Moroccan roots. Her influences span the musical genres and her comfort with music as a language is easily discernible by way of the soulful stirring of her voice when performing live and the harmonies she composes on recordings. She currently teaches music to children and on occasion sings songs from her Sultradelix EP. Don’t miss her!
Harris the Knowitall
Harris is as about eclectic as they come. Being somewhat of a spaced out, forward- thinking, marijuana- toking bohemian from the block, the Oakland, CA based MC/ Producer/ Songwriter bears a soul influenced by both the revolutionariness and bleakness of his home town’s checkered history. His passionate sound displays a social consciousness melded with a street-smart and witty edge that universally captures the ears and minds of his generation. Harris, KnowItAll, or Knowy, as he has many a moniker, is most known for being the bearded, glasses wearing lyricist in the intergalactic musical collective League510. As a solo artist Harris' sound is a bit more mellow yet still just as electric and future forward as the tunes that League510 fans came to love.
Monk Earl
Monk's first incarnation as a deejay was at the age of 5 or 6 at 'Friends of Crown Heights Daycare Center' in Brooklyn, NY (circa 1979). It was there at the end of a full day that his childcare providers would allow the first child who asked, to spin a collection of 45's on the classroom record player. More often than not, Monk was that child.
It was also around that time that he first witnessed live deejaying on two turntables by way of his future brothers-in-law. Once, when Monk attempted to touch said turntables, he got smacked in the back of the head by one brother-in-law and his arm grabbed by another. A third (and the eldest) yelled "DON'T TOUCH SHIT... SIT YO BEHIND OVER THERE AND JUS WATCH!!!" And so I did.
