About Altering Perception | Activating Imagination
Altering Perception | Activating Imagination
.
An Evening Workshop of Experience & Dialogue
facilitated by Jeanne Rosen & David Lakein
In this workshop we will focus on how perception and imagination are closely intertwined, and explore how both profoundly impact the ways in which we are able—and willing—to be fully present in our actions and interactions.
How might expanding our awareness enable us to cultivate generosity of spirit and radical open-mindedness? And how can this, in turn, empower us to generate opportunities for stimulating collaboration and community building?
During our evening together, we will move, write, observe, draw, share and discuss, as we embark upon a journey of experimentation and discovery.
WE ARE
~
a mother-son team who have been working several years to form a nonprofit organization that draws on techniques from a variety of artistic and performance practices and community-building initiatives to effect significant change. Our core belief is that there exists a greater potential than we often realize for visionary action and transformative interaction, especially when we work across disciplines, cultures and generations.
Jeanne Rosen is a community leader engaged in intercultural and interfaith groups and projects; she lives in Santa Cruz, CA. David Lakein is an interdisciplinary artist and educator who teaches in schools, festivals, and studios and performs in diverse venues internationally; he is currently based in Chicago. Our collaboration is an outgrowth of our individual interests and experiences and shared passions, as well as our inter-generational relationship.
