About Bail Reform Symposium

Almost half a million legally innocent people are sitting in jail because they are too poor to pay bail.

On Tuesday May 22 at 6:30pm at the Resource Center for Nonviolence come learn more about California Money Bail Reform Act (SB10) and the impact that the money bail system in this country has on people charged with crimes. Even if someone is found innocent and never charged with a crime they must remain in jail until the trial unless they can afford to pay the bail to remain at home. If they cannot afford to pay then they must remain in jail and can lose their job, house, transportation, and cause strain on personal relationships at the very least. The US and the Philippines are the only two countries in the world that have money bail systems.
