Ben Wendel Group featuring Gerald Clayton, Joe Sanders and Henry Cole

Saxophonist Ben Wendel already has a Grammy nomination to his name, has received awards from Chamber Music America, as well as the ASCAP Jazz Composer Award, yet the composer/producer/musician is only thirty years old. He is a founding member of electronic-infused group Kneebody, which has been one of the most talked-about groups in jazz of-late, and has collaborated with artists from Eric Harland to Snoop Dogg and Gerald Clayton to Prince. Also an in-demand producer, Wendel still finds time to record his own albums, the most recent being 2013’s Constructions—to say nothing of his teaching positions at USC and the New School and the many master classes on his calendar. His forthcoming album, What We Bring, is his fourth release as a bandleader and features eight mesmerizing new originals.
