About Blues, Greens and Grains

The beginning of the farm year is cause for celebration at the Homeless Garden Project's Downtown store on March 6, the first Friday in March, from 6 to 8pm. The Project is proud to be supported by Patagonia Provisions and Marty O’Reilly and His Soul Orchestra, a popular blues band.

From small beginnings, the partnership with the Homeless Garden Project & Patagonia continues to grow. On any given day you might see staff from the Patagonia Santa Cruz Outlet out on the farm or in the Homeless Garden Project’s Downtown Store though Patagonia’s environmental internship.

Patagonia Provisions will provide appetizers for the evening.

Representatives from the Homeless Garden Project will be on hand to discuss their Community Supported Agriculture program in which weekly shares of the Project’s organically grown produce can be purchased by community members.

The evening will feature artist Susan Brown’s watercolors among other local art displayed in the store.

The Homeless Garden Project Store where the event will be hosted, sells products made in its training program, using raw materials grown at its organic farm. All revenue is reinvested in the nonprofit program. The store also provides skill-building and training opportunities for their program participants, helping men and women build a path out of homelessness.
