About Cabrillo Festival Community Night Concert

Cabrillo Festival and Music Director Cristi M?celaru are opening the doors to our community in a whole new way! Newcomers and long-timers are invited to check out how much fun this “new music” thing can be. We’ve designed an appealing program of fan favorites performed here at the Festival in recent seasons; plus a few new surprises. It’s a dynamic short concert of chamber works performed by members of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, and featuring our conductor Cristi M?celaru. One fast-paced set, no breaks—just a super special offering of music by the incredibly talented artists who make the Cabrillo Festival an international treasure. After the performance there will be an opportunity to chat with these astounding performers, sip a glass of wine, and get your tickets to the weekend’s upcoming concerts. This is our invitation to anyone who wants to check us out for the very first time, or for the 100th time. Bring your neighbors! Bring your friends! All seating is general admission. Tickets are required, but pricing is on a pay-what-you-can basis to ensure access for all. It’s going to be a captivating night of live music, featuring:

Michael Daugherty: Diamond in the Rough
Brad Edwards: Blue Wolf
Elizabeth Kennedy Bayer: I Lost My Savings in the Bitcoin Crash of 2014
Andy Akiho: Stop Speaking
François Rabbath: Rhapsody
Cristian M?celaru: Perpetual Tales
Thierry De Mey: (Musique de Table) Table Music
Anna Clyne: Within Her Arms (conducted by Cristi M?celaru)
