Santa Cruz-based aerial and acrobatic performance group, Aeraflux is presenting their newest creation "dis/connected," which explore relationships in a world where we are increasingly more connected to our devices than each other.

As today's youth are coming of age in a digital world, they are dealing with a variety of new and challenging factors when it comes to developing a sense of identity, creating community, and socializing with peers. Aeraflux's new show "dis/connected" deals with teen identity development and relationship-building in a world where smart phones and social media play a huge role, for better or worse.

Directed by Allie Cooper and Rose Calucchia, "dis/connected" will be performed by 9 teen girls from Santa Cruz. Using aerial dance and acrobatic floorwork, "dis/connected" illustrates the power in real-time relationships of trust and collaboration.
