Saxophonist Donny McCaslin is not one to tread water. Constantly evolving, Santa Cruz native McCaslin is very much in the forefront of contemporary music expanding the boundaries of jazz. His latest recording, Fast Future, is a follow-up to his 2014 Grammy-nominated, Casting for Gravity that pulls the worlds of jazz and electronica (EDM) together into energetic, acoustic/electronic soundscapes comprised of otherworldly melodies and driving rhythms – the shape of jazz to come for the 21st century. Donny’s current group is an excellent lineup of musicians that includes Jason Lindner on keyboards; Matt Clohesy on bass; and Mark Guiliana on drums.
