DWC Local Ballot Measures Forum

The Democratic Women’s Club of Santa County (DWC) will be holding a an electoral forum on local ballot measures on Monday evening, August 27, at 6:30 PM at the Police Community Room in Santa Cruz (155 Center Street). Doors will open at 6:30 PM and the program will begin at 7 PM. We will have debates or presentations on a number of ballot measures including rent control in the City of Santa Cruz, tax measures in Santa Cruz County, Capitola, Watsonville, and the Scotts Valley and Soquel Union Elementary School Districts, a housing bond in Santa Cruz County, the Capitola Greenway measure, and a measure that would appoint rather than elect the Capitola City Treasurer.

DWC members will be given a ballot with all of the issues we are considering, and may vote to support, oppose, or issue no endorsement on each issue. The DWC endorsement, which is based on a simple majority of those voting at the forum, brings a small financial contribution and the campaign support of DWC members. This event is free and open to the public.
