About Exploring the San Lorenzo River: Riparian Plants

The San Lorenzo River watershed is home to birds and bugs, fish and funghi, you and me! Explore the river ecosystem during the 2nd Annual Exploring the San Lorenzo River Series hosted by the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History and the Coastal Watershed Council. Learn from local naturalists, scientists and artists during this FREE weekly series, held at a different location along the river every Saturday now through April 21.

Saturday, February 24: Riparian Plant Walk
Join us for a hands-on exploration of the plants along the lower San Lorenzo River. Learn about the role of native and invasive plants in this urban river landscape. Learn about plant physiology, historical and medicinal uses and the role plants play in the river ecosystem. Take home a San Lorenzo souvenir – you’re very own plant print! This tour will be led by Max Landon of Groundswell Ecology.

Pre-registration is required. Visit https://coastal-watershed.org/event/exploring-san-lorenzo-river-series-tour-copy/ to register for this free event and to find out the exact meeting location.
