Homelessness: A Community Dialogue

Calvary Episcopal Church in Santa Cruz is hosting an event to increase understanding about homelessness in Santa Cruz and to highlight local initiatives addressing homelessness. Homelessness: A Community Dialogue, will take place at Calvary Parish Hall at Cedar & Lincoln Streets on Saturday, November 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, and will feature:

• Discussion on the current state of homelessness in Santa Cruz County.
• Local people talking about experiencing homelessness and their circumstances.
• A short video featuring Santa Cruz area people experiencing homelessness.
• Consideration of local initiatives addressing homelessness.
• Thinking and talking together about ways we can bring light to the situation in our community.

This event is the third in a series of Community Forums presented by Calvary Episcopal Church. Calvary is partnering with Smart Solutions to Homelessness for this forum and volunteers from Smart Solutions will lead the discussion.

This event is planned in conjunction with National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week (November 12-20, 2016), a national endeavor by the National Coalition for the Homeless to promote education, action, and awareness about hunger and homelessness. Calvary Episcopal Church is proud to sponsor this important effort in Santa Cruz.
