Inspiration & Impact | Cabrillo Festival Orchestra Concert

Marin Alsop’s encouragement of aspiring composers has had a huge influence on the trajectory of their lives and careers. So, too, her programming has inspired both musicians and audiences throughout the world. Tonight Alsop’s program includes two works by John Adams (Composer), one commissioned by the musicians of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra in Alsop’s honor, and dedicated to her by the composer. Attacca Quartet will be perform Adam’s Absolute Jest with the Festival Orchestra. Kevin Puts, composer’s The City includes film by James Bartolomeo, and is inspired by the city of Baltimore and its urban landscapes and social complexities.
