Women now comprise a larger proportion of the prison population than ever before; the female prison population stands nearly eight times higher than its population in 1980.
More than 60% of women in state prisons have a child under the age of 18.

As we pay special attention concerning women in the correctional system, learn about what formerly incarcerated persons can achieve, sense the realities of incarceration by experiencing the Prison Project’s Replica Prison Cell, and tour the Kinsey Exhibition – the largest private collection of African-American art & artifacts.

Admission is free, donations are accepted
