Jon Dryden Trio

Pianist/keyboardist/composer Jon Dryden teams up with East Bay Area stalwarts bassist Max Schwartz, drummer Ben Ring and up-and-coming vocalist Ren Geisick. An Aptos native¬—and a graduate of the Berklee College of Music—Dryden lived in Brooklyn, New York for nineteen years before returning to California six years ago. Over his busy career, Dryden has performed with the cream-of-the-crop, including drum legend Lenny White, violin diva Regina Carter, singer Norah Jones, and Marcy Playground. The group will be performing Dryden's original compositions, as well as more obscure gems from the Great American Songbook. Geisick—inspired by vocalists Nina Simone and Eva Cassidy—was a recipient of DownBeat's Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Jazz Vocalist while a student at Cal State, Long Beach.
