Nir Felder Quartet

Within the playing of guitarist Nir Felder you can hear the strains of many influences, from Jimi Hendrix to John Coltrane and many points in-between. After formative gigs with Esperanza Spalding and Terry Lynne Carrington, the Berklee College of Music grad released Golden Age, his debut as a bandleader, in 2014. The album’s original compositions deal with the themes of political, cultural and technological upheaval and blur the lines between jazz, rock and hip-hop. Despite being wide-ranging in influence, the album retains a pensive and thoughtful tone throughout, with plenty of sonic twists and turns that thrill.
