Guitarist Robben Ford’s latest album, Into The Sun, steps away from his two previous roots-oriented projects. Instead, Ford’s new songs encompass the full range of his musical experience from down home to sophisticated. The rock, jazz, folk, and pop influences are evident throughout. But no matter what the musical style, the five-time Grammy nominee’s blues roots always come shining through. Ford’s distinguished guitar sound has been featured backing a number of great artists over the years, including Jimmy Witherspoon, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, and Miles Davis.
