Sin Sisters Burlesque will set your soul on fire!!
More than mere alliteration, the Sin Sisters are queens of an underground community. The sisters trace the performance’s origins to 2011 when the Santa Cruz Derby Girls asked them to collaborate in a fundraiser. “It was so fun,” says Balla, “with the Derby Girls we packed the main room at the Catalyst.” “Still to this day, it was a loudest crowd I’ve ever walked out to,” says Cyanide, “after that the Catalyst asked when we were coming back.”
With their powers combined and fueled by passion for their craft, the Sin Sisters are cutting a path for burlesque in Santa Cruz and beyond. “I want this town to know what burlesque looks like on a global scene. I want Santa Cruz to know what I love about burlesque,” Balla explains, “We keep the show as diverse as possible. We have everything from classic striptease, to old school glamour, to crazy, zany off-the-wall humor and everything in between. I want to see diversity on the stage. I want to see diversity in body types. I want to see racial diversity. I want to see everything on my stage.”
