The Guitarsonists: Chris Cain, Mighty Mike Schermer, Daniel Castro

The Guitarsonists are comprised of Chris Cain, Mighty Mike Schermer and Daniel Castro––quite the triumvirate of guitar-slingers. With players this versatile it would be near impossible for any guitar fan to come away disappointed. Cain has been playing since the age of eight and has become an institution on the Bay Area blues scene. His searing blues guitar style is just one of his abilities, as he also counts piano, bass and saxophone on his instrumental resume. Heavily influenced by blues greats such as Albert King, B.B. King and Albert Collins, Castro grew up in LA and cut his teeth in the blues clubs in the South Central area. He built a name for himself and has toured with Small Faces singer Ronnie Lane. After moving to San Francisco in 1995, he has been a local mainstay with his own Daniel Castro Band. Central Coasters may still be mourning Mighty Mike Schermer’s move to Texas, where he has teamed up with Marcia Ball’s band. Over the years Schermer has become a go-to sideman for legends such as Elvin Bishop, Bonnie Raitt and Maria Muldaur. If we’re judged by the company we keep, The Guitarsonists are in good standing.
