Tony Lindsay Presents: The Soul Soldiers

Grammy winner Tony Lindsay presents The Soul Soldiers—powerhouse vocalists Fred Ross and Will Russ, Jr.—performing the hits from Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Lou Rawls, Sam Cooke and Donny Hathaway. As the lead vocalist for Santana for 25 years—as well as the leader of the popular San Francisco Bay Area R&B, jazz and dance group Spangalang—Tony Lindsay has garnered 11 Grammy Awards, travelled on several world tours and recorded many CDs. Joining Lindsay on this special show include the powerful voice of Fred Ross, who has recorded and toured with Aretha Franklin, Tower of Power, Frankie Beverly and Chaka Khan; and William Russ Jr, a Detroit born, bred and raised singer with a sound as soothing as a cool summer breeze. Together—with Allen Leong on piano, Dave Shul on guitar, David Jones on bass, and Deszon Claiborn on drums—The Soul Soldiers have discovered a crowd pleasing formula drawn from the great American R&B tradition.
