Vegan Cheese, Please! A Gourmet Culinary Workshop
About Vegan Cheese, Please! A Gourmet Culinary Workshop
Love cheese, but want to avoid the cholesterol, dairy protein, and high salt and saturated fat content?
Here is your opportunity to learn how to make amazing, artisanal, whole-foods, vegan cheeses!
Your guide Chef Beth Love, author of the cookbook series Tastes Like Love, will share recipes and techniques for several flavors of semi-firm cashew cheeses, a sharp and delightful almond cheese, and a new nut-free cheese under development.
Here is what you will get in this hands-on workshop:
• Recipes for several delightful nut-based cultured cheeses
• Techniques for masterfully implementing the recipes in your own kitchen
• Information about obtaining high quality, humanely-produced ingredients
• Overview of needed equipment and alternatives
• The opportunity to practice all the required skills for making phenomenal dairy-free cheeses
• A cheese tasting "party" including multiple varieties of cruelty- and cholesterol-free cheeses, crackers, and assorted tasty additions
• A ceramic mold for making your own cheese at home
• A small whole cheese to take home
• Follow up technical assistance after the workshop
All ingredients and equipment provided, though you are welcome to bring your own blender if you want to try the techniques with your own equipment.
Children who are mature enough to participate in structured group activities are welcome and encouraged to attend.
There are a limited number of discounted bring-a-friend tickets available, so if you want to come with a friend and get a deal, register right away and select the bring-a-friend ticket option.
