All Female Crew Sail Around World in Fight against Plastic Pollution- Exxpedition!

Local marine biologist Dr. Rikki Eriksenjoined an all-female eXXpedition to raise awareness and research plastic pollution. Exxpedition is sailing over the next two years on 30 different voyages around the world to research and share experiences with the public. The voyage brings together 300 women scientists, artists, educators, and media experts to identify ways to empower local communities, shift consumer choices, ignite a social media and awareness campaign and raise the alarm about the enormous long-term health impacts plastic has on our bodies. Rikki will share stories about dodging late season hurricanes, being followed by a minke whale, sifting through the microplastics collected at sea, and the trials and tribulation of sailing over 2200 nautical miles across the Atlantic with a team of astounding women.
